I have listed and grouped the most fequent questions I get asked regarding my wedding photography, me as photographer, my equipment, booking and payment etc. with the answers to each here below.
Booking related questions are answered in this category. As soon as you can after your wedding day or after receipt of your final invoice if we had to render services approved by you on the day not included in the signed agreement. Please note that I do not start work on your wedding photos until full payment has been confirmed. The sooner I get the final installment, the sooner you can get your photos.
Please refer to my online price list. It can be found under the "Pricing" menu or by clicking >here<.
If you want to confirm a date, you need to pay a 50% deposit and send me your completed service agreement. If you indicate interest in a date I will pencil your name in. If somebody else wants to book me for the same date, I'll let you know and give you first right of refusal for three days.
No. You can contact me with special requests and I'll see if I can meet them. If you really want to pay less, get another photographer :-) Also know this - a cheap wedding photographer will most probably not make use of professional equipment and software, will not have backup equipment and will not give TLC to each and every one of your precious wedding memories. If you still have any queries come and see me and I will discuss with you in detail how we've arrived at the prices we charge.
The sooner the better. These days 6 months is about the minimum lead time for bookings. Anything closer thant that to your wedding date and you are running the risk of not getting your photographer of choice.
Service related questions will be answered in this category No, I only shoot Christian weddings. I don't have any experience shooting other religions' wedding ceremonies and would not feel comfortable doing so.
I used to, but only do it in very special cases these days. What is a special case? - I don't know, I decide per request.
I have a relaxed style and shoot the wedding as it unfolds. Most of the time you will not notice us. During the formal session I will direct you in order to get the best shots, but I love spontaneuous fun moments, so prepare to have loads of fun! To get a feel for my style, browse through my portfolio galleries.
We are based in Pretoria and are willing to travel if given enough time to arrange it. You see, we have three small children and have to make special arrangements if we'll be away from home for a night or more... Please note that I do not drive more than 50km at night due to safety reasons, in which case I'll need to sleep over at the wedding venue or as close as possible.
Yes. We use four Nikon camera bodies at every wedding. We also have multiple lenses, extra flash units, lots of batteries, loads of memory cards, an external hard drive, etc. You get the picture...
Yes. We're a husband and wife team. I'll shoot the bride getting ready and my husband will shoot the groom. We both cover the couple and family photos as well as the wedding and reception in order to cover more angles than a single wedding photographer ever could.
Question about my product offerings and related issues are answered here I prefer couples to come and pick up their photos and/or album etc themselves. That way I can make sure that you receive your order in good condition and that you are satisfied. I get a HUGE kick out of a satisfied customer, so please come and pick it up! CDs and DVDs can be posted and albums can be couriered to you at an extra charge.
Yes. I use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for my normal workflow like colour correction etc, but also add my personal touch to every single photo. It's a labour of love in the end. Go and see for yourself in my online portfolio galleries by clicking >here<. Please note that I do not fancy extreme digital manipulation where you end up looking like a wax doll or float in a bubble.
Normally within 4 weeks after receipt of your final payment. It depends on your preferences as well. If you would like to select the photos to be printed yourself, the to and fro communication can delay this timeline quite a lot. If I have received your full payment, I'll provide you with a proof CD to speed up the process a bit.
I offer both traditional leatherbound wedding albums as well as story book wedding albums. Have a look for yourself under the "Wedding Albums" menu or by clicking >here<.
Specific questions about the day of the wedding is answered here. Yes please - we require seating and food (go figure).
Preferably locate our seating near a wall plug in case we need to charge a battery or power backup storage units etc. and with enough space to park our equipment. If you want us out of the way, please note that you'll then have to make sure that we know when to shoot what part of your reception.
Schedule your wedding so that we'll have at least an hour and a half for your couple and wedding party photo shoot before the sun sets. Please contact me before you fix your wedding day timelines so that we can work out a schedule that suits you and will help me give you the photos that you desire. Refer to my sunrise/sunset table to calculate an appropriate schedule for your wedding according to the wedding date. The table can be found by clicking >here<.
We wear dark, semi-formal clothes in order to blend in and to stay unnoticed as far as possible.
Please feel free to contact me if you need more information.
